GBAPS District substitute teachers implement the prepared lesson plan to ensure all students receive quality instruction in the absence of their teacher. This position helps students reach proficiency as specified in the District’s written curriculum. We offer $190 per full day in short term substitute positions or $210 per full day in long term substitute positions.
Qualifications Required:
Certification: Wisconsin DPI Substitute Teacher, Provisional or Lifetime Educator license
Education: Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Training: Successful completion of a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction endorsed Substitute Teacher Training Program
Essential Functions:

2. Promotes efforts on diversity, establishes best practices and utilizes skills to remove barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.
3. Creates a favorable professional impression on students, parents, community, and other employees.
4. Maintains confidentiality in verbal, written, and electronic communication. Refers confidential information to the appropriate person
5. Follows the absent teacher’s written lesson plans and uses materials provided to attain lesson goals.
6. Follows safe practices and adheres to safety standards.
Classroom Functions:
1. Takes attendance according to the procedures of the school.
2. Ensures students and self assume responsibility for safe, appropriate use and return of classroom materials and supplies.
3. Complies with all procedures, guidelines and policies of the schools at all times. Long term positions have additional deadlines and expectations.
4. Makes the teacher aware of special situations or problems encountered.
5. Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
