Whitewater High School seeks a dedicated English Language Arts teacher for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. Applicants must be committed to continuous improvement and skilled at fostering mutually respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members. The ideal candidate for this teaching position will be familiar with state and professional academic standards and have a firm grasp on best instructional practices. The current teaching assignment is primarly English 10 and Speech (12th grade), however the assignment can be tailored to fit the strengths of the chosen candidate.
Candidates will be skilled collaborators and join a school community committed to the PLC process and living our mission for all students. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate successful use of assessment data to guide instruction and foster student-ownership for learning. Additional consideration will be given to candidates willing to pursue transcripted course certification(s) through our local technical college and university partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must demonstrate:
Familiarity with state standards in all relevant subject area disciplines;
Creativity, enthusiasm and a high degree of energy;
Ability to develop community partnerships;
Understand the use of technologies that can personalize learning for students and enhance critical thinking (i.e. Chromebooks, Google Apps);
The ability to provide a safe, positive and engaging learning environment for students;
A positive approach to problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and respect
Preference will be given to candidates who are multilingual and have experience working with diverse student populations
