The Ripon Area School District is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time School Psychologist to join our team in serving students in our elementary schools beginning with the 2024-25 school year.  The position would include working with students and staff in our two elementary school buildings–Barlow Park Elementary (grades EC-2nd) and Murray Park/Quest (grades 3-5)..

Qualified candidates will hold a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction issued School Psychologist license and be able to perform the following:

  • Provide diagnostic services in the area of intelligence, personality, sensory motor, achievement, and adaptive behavior to students with suspected exceptional educational needs.

  • Provide district leadership in collaboration with the School Psychologist team for the following district needs: Sustain and/or Establish a district wide Culturally Responsive eMLSS and comprehensive special education evaluation process, support the facilitation and professional learning for the FBA and BIP process, Support the implementation of Act 20 including data analysis, parent communication, evidence based interventions and progress monitoring. 

  • Coordinate and actively participate in the building consultation team by assisting in the development, implementation, and /or evaluation of student interventions.

  • Monitor the special education referral and re-evaluation processes, assist, process and evaluate 504 plans, assist with IEP development and implementation, and demonstrate competency to serve as LEA.

  • Demonstrate skill utilizing current technology to gather and store data, keep records, and communicate with various audiences.  

  • Acknowledge student diversity in the development and learning of students with different abilities, disabilities, orientations, strengths, and needs from a variety or racial, cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender-related and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Consult with parents of students, who have been formally evaluated, about educational interventions and/or management strategies that can be utilized at home and at school to assist the child to reach his/her full potential.

  • Report test data and observations for students who have been referred to assist the IEP team in identifying various disabilities along with helping to determine the need for special education.

  • Support the development and implementation of school based mental health services

  • Collaborate/consult with individual teachers regarding learning or behavioral concerns about students.  Assist the teacher in establishing behavioral management programs and/or classroom modifications to accommodate the learning needs of their students.

  • Other responsibilities related to the position as assigned by the Director of Special Education



He/she will join an excellent, collaborative team of experienced, supportive Special Education Teachers and Therapists, Administrators and Interventionists.   Ripon has one School Psychologist serving elementary aged students and one serving secondary aged students.  Ripon has excellent facilities and materials available for serving students with special needs.  Details of the job may vary depending on the candidate’s strengths and talents.  The School Psychologists report to the Director of Special Education and work closely with building principals and the Director of Pupil Services.
