Full Time
CESA 5 is seeking to fill two full-time itinerant positions. One in Sauk County and the other in Columbia and Marquette Counties.
 
The Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) provides itinerant Occupational Therapy services to special education students. This includes completing student evaluations and consultations, providing direct and indirect services, being a collaborative member of the IEP team, supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants, traveling between required sites, and completing required therapy-related documentation.

4. Maintains confidentiality regarding internal matters of the Agency and complies with legal confidentiality requirements.
5. Complies with Agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, practices and administrative directives.
6. Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provides direct therapy services to students.
2. Consult with staff or families, as requested.
3. Evaluates students, interprets and reports test results.
4. Participates as an active IEP team member and collaborates with staff regarding student progress and needs.
5. Develop appropriate IEP annual goals, benchmarks, treatment plans, and strategies.
6. Completes all paperwork on time, as required (e.g., daily treatment notes, enrollments, progress notes).
7. Communicate with staff, other professionals, and parents as needed.
8. Supervises one or more Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with state and federal law.
9. Coordinates therapy schedule to ensure adequate coverage of assigned districts and students.
10. Travel between school districts and school sites as needed.
 
Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Attends all meetings called by the Director of Special Education or OT/PT coordinator.
2. Participates in CESA 5 OT/PT Department staff meetings.
3. Maintains inventories and requests equipment and supply purchases when necessary.
4. Provides in-services as requested.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
1. Possesses a valid Occupational Therapist license through the Department of Public Instruction, State of
Wisconsin, and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
2. Possesses a valid driver's license.
3. Has the ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information in a group setting.
4. Has the ability to apply in-depth knowledge of special education record keeping, principles, practices, and procedures.
5. Is accountable to commitments, meetings, and therapy schedules.
6. Demonstrates enthusiasm for school-based therapy practice and commitment to CESA 5 service philosophy.
7. Has the ability to efficiently use required technology.
8. Has the ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff, other agencies, and the public.
9. Has the ability to analyze complicated special education needs & situations and provide sound advice and recommendations.
