Position Title:  Sign Language Interpreter - Summer School

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should possess:
* A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
* Two years of higher education, an Associate Degree, or completion of a formal state or local assessment.
* Certified and/or eligible for Wisconsin Certification as an Educational Interpreter (884) from the Department of Public Instruction.
* Instructional and/or supervising experience with elementary school-age children.
* Preference given to candidates with experience working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing.
* Consistency in response to children; patient and reliable.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
 
Job Description:
  • To facilitate communication among students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher, and other personnel in the school system.
  • To develop life-long learners.
  • To nurture the ability of all to become responsible for their own learning.

Reports To:  Building Principal(s)
 
Terms of Employment: July 8 - 25, 2024 for summer school. Hours are 7:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.
