The School District of Fort Atkinson is seeking an energetic leader to serve as Middle School Associate Principal at Fort Atkinson Middle School beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Fort Atkinson Middle School serves approximately 475 students in grades 6-8 and strives to achieve distinction in all we do. Our mission is to cultivate an inclusive, high-performing culture of growth and community. FAMS is looking to continue building strong academics, STEM, agriculture, arts programs and extracurricular opportunities, supported by a comprehensive pupil services team, to ensure students are ready for all post-Middle school pathways. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Middle School Principal, the Middle School Associate Principal supports the leadership of the building principal in the school, as well as the District’s mission and vision. The Middle School Associate Principal serves as an academic leader, a leader in restorative justice practices, and supports the day-to-day operations of the school, which includes addressing student discipline and attendance issues, school safety, and positive school climate. The Middle School Associate Principal is responsible for supporting the Middle School Administrative Team's work to foster a respectful learning environment that is engaging to a student community with diverse academic, emotional, and socioeconomic needs. This position may include attendance at evening district meetings and supervision of evening/weekend student activities and events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Wisconsin Principal license or evidence of eligibility to be licensed as a Principal in Wisconsin.

Master’s degree with a major in educational leadership or closely related field required.

Demonstrated successful teaching experience, preferably at the level the principal will be working.

Successful experience in public school administration and supervision is preferred.
