The School District of Whitefish Bay has a middle school level coaching vacancy for cross country for Fall 2024. The cross country season runs from 9/1/2024 - 10/19/2024.
Interested candidates should have cross country coaching experience or willingness to learn from veteran coaches.

Preferred Coach/Advisor Criteria:

- Previous experience coaching/competing in the sport or activity
- A general philosophy on coaching and passion for the sport or activity
- Knowledge of the fundamentals, training, rules, and strategy of the sport or activity
- Ability to effectively communicate with athletes, parents, and administration
- Strong organizational skills
- Develop and implement game strategy and position assignments
- Creating a mutually beneficial relationship between colleagues and the community
- Maintaining a positive and growth-mindset throughout all time of the job
- Monitor and maintain the conduct of students/student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics /activity/club program

Reasonable and reliable attendance is a requirement of this position/job. The final candidate must successfully complete/pass a criminal background check, pre-employment requirements (physical, TB test, etc.), and hiring paperwork.

All Coaches/Advisors must meet the following requirements:

1. Completion of New Hire paperwork including criminal background check and pre-employment physical & TB test
2. Completion of the Wisconsin DPI Mandatory Reporting of Child Maltreatment-Training for All School Employees within the last five (5) years
3. Completion of the Wisconsin DPI Mandatory Threats of Violence Training for All School Employees within the last five (5) years

Additional Coach/Advisor duties at the Middle School level may include, but are limited to:
>Review of the Coaching Handbook and The Coaches Code of Ethics
>Responsible for collection and inventoried equipment, uniforms, and/or materials used during your season
>Completion of the WIAA National Federation of HS Non-Teachers Coaches Course or with pre-approval from Activities Director an equivalent course through sport specific organization
>Completion of the WIAA Rules Exam and corresponding Rules Video
>Review of the District’s Concussion Management Plan
>Completion and submission of your most recent CPR, AED, and First Aid certification cards to the Activities Office
