Salem School District is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team of educators. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to students from Early Childhood to 8th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech and language abilities.

• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.

• Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or group settings.

• Implementing evidence-based interventions and strategies to address communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders.

• Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy goals and interventions as needed.

• Providing consultation and support to classroom teachers to promote the integration of speech and language goals into the classroom curriculum.

• Documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress, discuss concerns, and make recommendations for ongoing support.

• Collaborating with community agencies and resources to support students' speech and language needs outside of the school setting.

• Participating in professional development activities to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in the field of speech and language pathology.

Qualifications:

• Wisconsin DPI license in Speech/Language Pathology (1820)

• ASHA (American Speech Language Hearing Association) Certification or interested in certification required

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.

• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school-based setting.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing special education services, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

• Commitment to cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
