Position Details
Salem School District is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team of educators. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to students from Early Childhood to 8th grade.
Key Responsibilities:

Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech and language abilities.

Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.

Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or group settings.

Implementing evidence-based interventions and strategies to address communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders.

Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy goals and interventions as needed.

Providing consultation and support to classroom teachers to promote the integration of speech and language goals into the classroom curriculum.

Documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress, discuss concerns, and make recommendations for ongoing support.

Collaborating with community agencies and resources to support students' speech and language needs outside of the school setting.

Participating in professional development activities to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in the field of speech and language pathology.
Qualifications:

Wisconsin DPI license in Speech/Language Pathology (1820)

ASHA (American Speech Language Hearing Association) Certification or interested in certification required

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school-based setting.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing special education services, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Commitment to cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
