The successful candidate will fill an .80 FTE position teaching assignment at Nikolay Middle School teaching 4 different courses. Courses include Spanish Exploratory (Grade 6) and Spanish 1 (Grade 7 & Grade 8). This position also includes .20 FTE role as the district EL coordinator.

All qualified candidates will be expected to: be familiar with and/or have experience using comprehensible input to teach a world language; collaborate with colleagues to improve the learning of all students; positively engage various stakeholders in the school and community; establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students.

In our district, we are working to educate students in proportionally represented, heterogeneous environments. We are working to eliminate tracking, ability grouping, and programs that pull students out of the classroom. In your classroom, you may have students who are performing at various levels and students with significant intellectual disabilities, and across races, social classes, and language levels. This candidate will build rapport with students of color, students from low-income families, students labeled with a disability, students who are culturally and linguistically diverse, and students who are LGBTQ to ensure the physical, psychological, and emotional safety of all children.

Requirements: Wisconsin appropriate certification(s) must be possessed (World Language Spanish is required) or in the process of being secured.
