We are seeking applicants for the following position(s):

Special Education Assistant Exclusive Substitute (Temporary Position) 
Verona Area School District
.94 FTE, 37.5 hours/week

Skills Required/Preferred:
Ability to communicate to colleagues and students in English is required 
Bilingual (Spanish) language skills are prioritized
Good communication and organization skills is required
Ability to collaborate and be a team player is required
Skills in proactively addressing behaviors is required
Work experiences with students with significant behavioral disabilities is highly preferred
Ability to assist students in regular education and special education 
Willingness and ability to assist with medical and personal care needs for students 
Non-violent Crisis Intervention training required upon hire
Candidates from diverse backgrounds and those who have worked with students and families from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply
Must support the VASD Strategic Plan and mission that each student will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their personal goals, thrive in a diverse global society, and lead a healthy, self-fulfilling life
 
Position requires one or more of the following qualifications:
Completion of at least two (2) years of study at an accredited institution of higher education
Hold an associate’s (or higher) degree
Successful completion two of the three requirements which include job related testing, an interview and demonstrated performance through observation or documentation
Bilingual (Spanish) language skills are prioritized
