Position Details
To implement, integrate, align, coordinate, and advance the Community School strategy at the school site level; To lead this work, in partnership with the school staff, families, and community, resulting in equitable access to high quality programs, services, and opportunities for students, their families, and the school’s surrounding neighborhood; To plan and align all programs, services, and opportunities collaboratively with the principal.

Implements a menu of needs-driven, high-quality programs and services in adherence with the Community School model, including but not limited to birth to five supports, health services, community services, parent/family engagement, adult education, and extended learning opportunities.

Collaboratively with the Community School’s Lead Partner, school site, and district leadership develops a formal service plan and budget, submitted annually for approval and to be amended periodically throughout the school year as needed.

Ensures the alignment and integration of all programming consistent with goals and objectives established by the Principal and District Level Community Schools Leadership.

Conducts and/or identifies needs assessment and asset mapping for the school and surrounding community in order to inform the development and monitoring of the goals and objectives established by the principal and District Level Community Schools Leadership.

Advises the principal on how to integrate partners and community members into school governance structures.

Coordinates needs and resource assessment activities on an ongoing basis, employing a variety of strategies and including a broad cross-section of stakeholders.

Convenes and staffs the site-based Community School Advisory Committee, a coordinating body that is co-led by the principal and Community School Resource Coordinator and may be comprised of administrators, teachers, support services staff, partners, parents, and others to identify needs, set priorities, coordinate site-based strategies, and evaluate how resources are used.

Supports the research/evaluation of the Community School by supervising and coordinating the collection of data, timely submission of reports, and responses to other requests for information.

Uses the Coalition for Community Schools Standards to help school staff assess current state and growth opportunities in implementation.

Works collaboratively and frequently with the Lead Partner to ensure they know what the school needs and to develop a collaborative plan for programming/services.

Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
