DeForest is a growing suburban community located approximately 10 miles northeast of Madison. The Academic & Career Planning Coordinator will be the main contact person for the DeForest Area School District as related to Career Pathways, Programs of Study, and Academic and Career Planning. This person reports to the Director of Instruction and serves as a liaison between the buildings and district office. This is a non-represented, 220-day position.
Duties Include:
Academic & Career Planning (K-12) Coordinator
DAHS Testing Coordinator
High School Advisory Coordinator
Apex & Wisconsin eSchool Network Coordinator
High School Summer School Coordinator
Early College Credit Program & Start College Now Coordinator
Assist with Course Proposals/Descriptions/Handbook
DAHS Career Clusters/Pathways
College & Business Information/Visits/Resource Fairs
Annual Report Data. Assist with District Board Reports
Attend Leadership Teams/Meetings (All Leadership, Department Chair, PLC)
Other Duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must possess an excellent understanding of career pathways and Academic and Career Plans and how these initiatives support an effective instructional program. Possess a good understanding of and use different types of assessments and know their purposes, strengths and limitations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a lifelong learner, and have the ability to work effectively with administrators and staff and will strive to continually improve district practices based on the most current research.
The Academic & Career Planning Coordinator must hold or be working toward a Master’s Degree in Education. A certification in Administration is strongly encouraged.
