The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Occupational Therapist located at North Woods International School and Summit Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. 
 
Wisconsin certification O051 Occupational Therapy required.
 
Description:  School Occupational Therapists work with school staff, students, and parents to facilitate student participation and occupational performance in a variety of learning environments.
 
Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
License: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction certification as an Occupational Therapist
 
Qualifications Desired:
Prefer applicants possessing the following qualifications:
● An educationally based approach to occupational therapy.
● Experience working with students with disabilities ages 3 through 21.
● Department of Regulation and Licensing licensure
● Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
 
Essential Functions:
1. Evaluates students, interprets evaluation findings as a member of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team, and makes appropriate recommendations for services.
2. Develops integrated educational therapy plans and assists in the development of integrated IEPs for special education students.
3. Implements educational therapy plans/IEPs through direct service, consultation, and/or monitoring.
4. Knowledge and experience with sensory interventions.
5. Participates as a member of an IEP team in a collaborative way.
6. Works with a variety of professionals in a collaborative integrated approach.
7. Provides support within the regular education environment when appropriate for identified students.
8. Consults with staff and parents effectively.
9. Promotes efforts on diversity, establishes best practices and utilizes skills to remove barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.
10. Uses Assistive Technology to support student participation.
11. Strives to improve and optimize student performance in a variety of learning environments through adaptations/modifications.
12. Completes and maintains required records and/or documentation of services provided.
13. Teaches, monitors, and collaborates with educational personnel, community agencies, parents, and students regarding occupational therapy and individual needs in order to increase understanding and student performance.
14. Provides continuing education and in-service for educational personnel.
15. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
