The School District of Onalaska is accepting applications for three Elementary Resilient Learner Interventionist (Behavioral Interventionist).  These positions are new to Onalaska and will assist in developing a program to support our students at each of our Onalaska elementary schools - Eagle Bluff, Irving Pertzsch and Northern Hills.

Job Goal: To provide behavioral and social/emotional instruction and intervention.  To assist staff in implementing best practices through co-teaching, small group instruction, or on an individual basis. This person will work in conjunction with school-wide systems of support (i.e. collaborative teams, problem-solving teams, interventionists) to address specific behavioral and social/emotional expectations in which students are not demonstrating proficiency. 

Qualifications:
  1. Possess a valid Wisconsin teaching license in applicable grade levels. Preference give to elementary teacher license, counselor license, school social worker license, or special education license 
  2. Prior teaching experience preferred but not required
  3. Ability to work well with administrators, staff, students and the community.
  4. Such qualifications as the administration may find appropriate
 
Specific essential functions:
  1. Participate in the Equitable Multi-Level Systems of Support (EMLSS) process of identifying students in need of additional instruction in social emotional/behavioral areas.
  2. Coordinate Social/Emotional Learning and Behavioral instruction, intervention and support for identified students which includes:
    • Providing direct instruction and progress monitoring in alignment with student specific needs 
    • Creating responsive schedules for identified students 
    • Providing intermittent academic instruction as needed in collaboration with classroom teachers
    • Providing instruction and support of students across environments
  1. Develop and organize the program and curriculum to include: 
    • Essential standards
    • Goal-setting
    • Identification of best practice
    • Professional development
    • Selection of instructional and assessment materials 
    • Interpretation of academic and behavioral data
  1. Maintain communication between home and school, and any community partners. 
  2. Attend and participate in local, regional and state meetings and workshops focused on improving student outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with Behavior Specialist/Coach, elementary job-alike and school-based teams.
