Seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the team of the Fremont STEM Academy. A love for working with colleagues in a collaborative and supportive manner and openness to the unexpected is essential.  We are seeking a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills for the role of a STEM teacher. The STEM teacher will be responsible for developing learning activities and hands-on material, tending to individual student needs, and communicating regularly with parents. They will also support the school’s healthy growth and development by cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with the charter school staff, Governance Board, parents, other partners, and the broader community.  To ensure success as a STEM teacher, candidates should have a strong quantitative background, demonstrate empathy, and have good written and verbal communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch STEM teacher will have excellent classroom management abilities and engage students with the subject matter.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Appropriate Wisconsin DPI licensure for the position

    1. Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field desired
    2. Previous experience as a STEM teacher desired

  2. Experience/training/certification in STEM and/or Project-Based Learning desired

  3. Must demonstrate: effective communication skills – oral, written, and technological; time management, organizational, and group facilitation skills; communication skills among diverse audiences, including students, staff, board, and community partners

  4. Experience working with children and adolescents, good classroom management skills, and a deep understanding of current technology. 

  5. Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one’s own cultural proficiency: valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one’s skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas
