Job Overview:
The part-time custodian assists the full-time custodial team with various cleaning duties,
setup and teardown for events, and ensuring the building is secured at night.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • N/A
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Vacuum/dust mop assigned areas.
  • Empty assigned trash receptacles and take out trash daily.
  • Clean bathrooms, locker rooms, water fountains and other assigned areas.
  • Assist in refinish/cleaning of floors when needed.
  • Immediate cleanup of spills, accidents, or body fluids when called upon.
  • Deliver custodial supplies as needed.
  • Unload supplies and materials and store in designated storage areas.
Event setup:
  • Close hallway gates
  • Help ticket takers set up
  • Open concession stand
  • During events, be available and visible to help staff when needed
Event teardown:
  • Clean-up areas used during the event
  • Open hallway gates
  • Assist ticket takers and others with closing
  • Stow bleachers (if used)
  • Ensure outside doors are locked and secured before leaving the evening shift.
  • The Superintendent may assign additional duties and responsibilities as necessary within the scope of the employment position.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work well with a variety of other personalities and cultures.
  • Ability to follow directions with fidelity.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience working in similar roles preferred.
Compensation and FTE:
  • This is a part-time position with flexible hours.

Evaluation:
  • Performance will be evaluated by the Supervisor or his/her designee in accordance with Board Policies 3220 and 4220.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to traverse interior and exterior areas with and without stairs.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
