Job Description:  The School District of Baraboo is seeking candidates for a full-time Student Services Coordinator starting with the 2024-2025 school year, beginning approximately August 19, 2024. Ideal candidates will be able to successfully collaborate and effectively build relationships with students, parents and staff. This position holds a 199-working day contract with benefits. This position is under the direction of the Director of Student Services.  


The coordinator collaborates with regular and special education teachers, student services staff, supervisors, and administrators in the areas of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), assessment, accommodations, and interventions. Additionally, in collaboration with the Director of Student Services, the coordinator will monitor compliance and allocation of resources including budget and staffing at the building level for the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA) and monitor compliance with Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).


Student Services staff will regularly examine how their personal experiences and biases impact their ability to effectively serve all students. They possess a deep understanding of the systemic biases within the education system which serve to perpetuate inequities for some students and families. They understand their role as a change agent and work with other staff, students, and community to design the system in a manner which actively supports our marginalized students and families.


Qualifications and Skills:  Candidates should possess a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction License: School Psychologist (#7062), School Counselor (#7054), School Social Worker (#7050), School Nurse (#7075), Director of Special Education and/or Pupil Services (#5080), Assistant Director of Special Education or Special Education (#1801, #1810) #1811, #1830). The qualified candidate will have experience with oversight  and leadership in student services and special education. They will collaborate with regular education and special education staff in areas of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Student Services Coordinator will also monitor compliance and allocation of resources.  Additionally, the Student Services Coordinator will need to be able to act as LEA at IEP meetings. 


The desired candidate will possess leadership ability, expertise in student services and special education. They will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred candidates would have 5 years of experience in student services or special education. A Masters degree in Educational Administration, an area of Student Services, Special Education and/or classroom experience is preferred.
