Full Time
Wilmot Union High School is currently seeking two full-time, compassionate, and experienced Family and Consumer Education teachers to join our esteemed faculty. Join us in our mission to prepare graduates who are equipped for college, career, and civic engagement. Applicants should possess, or be eligible to obtain, a valid and up-to-date DPI 1210 Family and Consumer Education license. Additional Wisconsin DPI licenses, such as 1211 (Child Care Services), 1213 (Food Service), 1215 (Family and Community Services), and/or 1216 (Home Economics Related to Occupations – HERO), would be advantageous. Applicants can be hired through the alternative certification programs offered by DPI.
 
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Support for all students in achieving academic, social, and emotional success
  • Collaborative teamwork with fellow staff members
  • Preferable experience in the food service and/or hospitality industry
  • Preferable experience or willingness to teach Gateway Technical College transcription classes
  • Familiarity with effective teaching methodologies aligned with the Common Core Standards
  • A commitment to continuous improvement through collaborative processes with colleagues and students
  • Understanding of the key elements of a Professional Learning Community, including the development of common assessments based on essential standards
  • Ability to design and implement lessons that promote high levels of learning for all students
  • Utilization of assessment practices for both learning and assessment purposes
  • Utilization of formative and summative assessment data to inform instructional decisions
  • Embrace of a growth mindset
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development opportunities
