The Elcho School District is seeking an Activities Director for the 2024-2025 school year. This position will be approximately 15-20 hours per week beginning July 1, 2024. This position serves all athletic programs for middle and high school as well as all activities such as NHS, Drama, Forensics, SADD, Fishing Club, Trap Club, Spanish Club etc.
Duties will include:
Serving as the main point of contact between the district and the WIAA.
Communicating regularly with the Principal regarding upcoming events.
Scheduling middle school and/or non-conference events in coordination with coaches.
Ensuring the school calendar accurately reflects the team schedule on a daily basis including appropriate locations and game times.
Scheduling and payment of officials Scheduling of transportation and any changes to transportation needs.
Attending and supervising home events when possible. Conducting pre-season coaches meetings at the start of each new season.
Attending and at times leading the monthly coach/advisor meetings.
Representing the district at all Northern Lakes Conference functions and WIAA events.
Hosting the annual co-curricular meeting for participants and their families.
Serving as point of contact for transfer and eligibility concerns.
Communicating regularly with school staff regarding events.
Maintaining the rSchool calendar for athletic schedules. Maintaining practice schedules, including facility usage.
Coordinating with coaches for appropriate sharing of school space for activities.
Scheduling Athletic Training services for home events.
Communicating the concussion protocol to coaches/advisors.
Maintaining the uniform replacement schedule and communicating the rotation with coaches/advisors.
Training staff prior to the start of each season to effectively work events.
Monitoring activity accounts and team budgets in conjunction with the Director of Business Services and/or the Principal.
Developing and maintaining job descriptions for each event worker and communicating these expectations prior to events.
Providing leadership and training opportunities for coaches and activity advisors for continuous improvement.
Maintaining a comprehensive list of facilities & equipment.
Investigating/conducting all activities code violations and communicating this to students and their parents/guardians.
Communicate with coaches regarding game times, bus schedules, and any last minute changes.
Assisting coaches/advisors with participant/parent concerns.
 
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
-Strong preparation and organizational skills
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to make difficult decisions to support bigger, overarching goals
-Ability to work as a team with school staff to ensure events run smoothly and equipment/facilities are taken care of appropriately
-Desire to advocate for the needs of a small school within our conference and with the WIAA
-Availability to work events when needed
