Position Details

Starting pay $14/hr. May commensurate with experience.
Full Time
Purpose: To provide support to building administration, staff members, and school community and act as liaison to parents and staff to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the school.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist building administrator, staff, students, parents and school community by coordinating the accurate and efficient dissemination of all information necessary to the orderly operation of the school 

  • Maintain operation of the school office including opening and closing, proper maintenance of all office equipment, answering and responding to telephone and written communications, preparing correspondence and other materials, and the distribution of mail 

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all school, student and staff issues 

  • Coordinate student affairs including registration, transfers and field trips, etc. 

  • Maintain and update records including:  Student information database (Infinite Campus), Student information and student attendance, & Student cumulative files 

  • Maintain school finance information as determined by building administrator  which may include:  Reconcile and maintain student activity accounts.  Request disbursements for building budgets.   Maintain records &  manage fees & monies collected.  Prepare deposits & monthly reporting.  Manage school purchase orders and inventory.  Act as custodian for petty cash.

  • Type and distribute school newsletter, bulletins, and correspondence 

  • Review building's daily substitute needs and initiate requests for substitute needs.

  • Coordinate transportation needs with bus company (field trips, etc.) 

  • Maintain high standards of public relations at all times with students, staff, parents, and school community 

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor - may include coverage for health office in the absence of the health coordinator, helping with various student support needs, and other positions as needed.


Term of Employment: • 10 month position • Anticipated employment hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Benefits available include health, dental, life & ltd insurance and WRS.

Physical Demands/Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pound items and to push or pull heavier items. It also requires good vision, hearing, and speech for safe and effective communication. Also requires ability to provide own transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent • 2 to 3 years secretarial or related experience • Strong technology skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills •Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
