The Osseo-Fairchild School District is seeking a Director of Special Education to provide leadership and supervision for special education programs. 

 

Summary Description:

* Provide technical assistance on legal and regularory compliance in the area of special education.

* Provide over sight to ensure for the development of child find, identification, assessment, placement, IEP development and review processes (in conjuction with school psychologist and principals).

* Ensure legal and regulatory compliance including due process and procedural safeguards (in conjuction with school psychologist and principals).

* Advise district administrative leadership relative to special education staff needs and utilization.

* Assist in the determination of needs for transportation, related services staff, equipment, community services, independent evaluation and out of district placements.

* Analyze professional development needs for staff and administration and arrange for appropriate activities to address.

* Assist principals in evaluating special education personnel job permormance.

* Manage monitoring, compliant , compliance, mediation, hearing and reconciliation issues.

* Assist administrative personnel in the preparation for and filing of Federal and State special education reports and data requirements.

* Collaborate with WI-MACS vendor for RMTS staff pool maintenance and oversight of claiming.

* Assist districts in the recruitment, employment and supervision of professional and related services personnel, including those employed through other agencies.
