The Whitewater Unified School District is seeking a motivated and qualified Bilingual/Bicultural teacher for Washington Elementary School. The successful candidate must hold ESL Teacher (#395) DPI certification and hold or be able to obtain a Bilingual/Bicultural License (#390) and meet the following requirements, found in this job description.
Washington Elementary School serves approximately 345 4K-5th grade students. Known for its positive school culture and child-centered focus, Washington takes great pride in providing a school experience which makes a difference in the lives of students. A 2017 US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School Award winner and 2024 US News Best Elementary School, Washington has successfully closed achievement gaps for all students. Washington’s dedicated and driven staff establishes close relationships with families allowing students to be supported both at school and at home. These relationships form a school family found at the heart of our students’ success.
Whitewater is a vibrant, diverse community with a growing population of multilingual families. Whitewater Unified School District has elements of rural and suburban communities. The City of Whitewater has a population of approximately 14,500. Whitewater is located in southern Wisconsin, approximately 45 miles west of Milwaukee, 45 miles east of Madison, and 100 miles northwest of Chicago. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with an enrollment of over 10,500 students, offers residents a variety of cultural and educational opportunities.
