Position Details
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Appropriate Wisconsin DPI licensure for the position
-
Three-plus years of teaching experience, preferably in a Waldorf School
-
Experience in curriculum development
-
Educational leadership desired
-
Experience/training/certification in Waldorf education desired
-
Must demonstrate effective communication skills – oral, written, and technological; time management, organizational, and group facilitation skills; communication skills among diverse audiences, including students, staff, board, and community partners
-
Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one’s own cultural proficiency: valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one’s skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas

Demonstrate leadership experience that enriches a strong and positive school community, inspires and motivates staff, and sees the unique individual in each student

Demonstrate alignment to the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education and the vision and mission of the school
Essential Job Functions:
-
Demonstrates knowledge of the developmental curriculum and teaching methods arising from the understanding of child development set forth by Rudolf Steiner.

Develops performance objectives and lesson plans that reflect the rhythm, timing, and activities consistent with the core principles of Public Waldorf education.

Maintains a behavioral climate in their classroom conducive to learning, assists in maintaining acceptable student behavior, and cultivates an atmosphere that embraces diversity.

Identifies and attempts to meet the needs of individual students, can develop differentiated lesson plans, and initiates referrals to student support services as necessary.

Communicate with students and parents regarding educational progress. Prepares progress reports and issues grades on time.

Maintains plans and instructional materials in such a way that they can be utilized by substitute teaching personnel when the need arises.

Works cooperatively with administrators, supervisors, and colleagues to plan and implement the school's educational programs. Takes the initiative collaboratively.

Attends faculty meetings, required in-service training, and other meetings as necessary.

Participates on committees that support a collaborative leadership model.
