The Wisconsin Virtual Academies comprise three public charter schools (Wisconsin Virtual Academy, Insight School of Wisconsin, and Destinations Career Academy) authorized by the McFarland School District and powered by Stride K12, Inc. Our mission is to provide equitable, personalized learning opportunities for students no matter where they are, who they are, or what they need. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and organized candidate to fill a full-time School Psychologist position for the 2024-25 school year. This position was added due to growth. The selected candidate will join a team of three full-time, highly skilled, collaborative psychologists who work across our schools. Our selective interview process ensures that we identify candidates who are passionate about working with students, collaborative, adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, innovative, solution-oriented, and excited for the unique realities of an online learning environment.
 
Position Overview:
School psychologists apply expertise in child development, learning, behavior, mental health, evidence-based intervention, collaborative consultation, and data analysis to support student learning and effective instruction. School psychologists collaborate and build positive relationships with all stakeholders, work with leadership to improve school-wide practices, support building-level Multi-Level Systems of Support (MLSS) and conduct comprehensive initial and triennial evaluations to identify and support students with disabilities. They play a vital role in providing support and services to students within a dynamic virtual learning environment. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to work collaboratively with school staff, families, and community agencies to deliver high-quality services to students in a variety of settings
  • Oversee and conduct all initial special education evaluations and work collaboratively with special education coordinators to complete three-year re-evaluations for students with IEPs
  • Administer psychological assessments across academic, intellectual, social, emotional, and behavioral domains
  • Interpret assessment results and develop comprehensive reports to identify student strengths, needs, appropriate learning targets, and inform programming in the general and special education settings
  • Interpret data to guide the design and implementation of evidence-based interventions
  • Promote and enhance learning for all students as an integral member of the MLSS team
  • Analyze and disseminate data to determine students’ needs, support appropriate instruction, and develop plans to prevent emerging concerns from evolving into greater problems
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Attend all required virtual meetings and professional development, as scheduled
  • Travel to in-person school events, as required (e.g., professional development, testing, graduation)
  • Provide consultation and deliver staff professional development across a range of topics 
  • Serve as LEA during IEP meetings to ensure compliance with state and federal special education mandates
  • Provide direct related services to students with disabilities as delineated in IEPs
  • Advocate for educational equity and culturally responsive practices 
  • Work from a professional home office, conducive to audio and video and a structured schedule
Qualifications:
  • Strong organization and time management skills are essential 
  • Shared view of the mission and vision of the Wisconsin Virtual Academies
  • Demonstrated ability to meet all deadlines per local, state, and national policies and statutes
  • Possess appropriate state of Wisconsin license (#7062)
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, proactive problem-solving, and a growth mindset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (e.g., Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Adept at learning and navigating multiple student information systems and other platforms
Other Considerations:
This position offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to: insurance (health, vision, dental), annual bonuses, and a 401K with up to a 6% match. This position does not participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). A computer, second monitor, and other supplies are provided.
