          SALARY                       $15.94/hour starting (Category IV) -Increased rate available based on comparable exp.

The Mequon-Thiensville School District is seeking an experienced individual to apply for the open position of Attendance Administrative Assistant. This individual will work in the attendance office at Homestead High School with duties that include word processing, reports, etc., placing and receiving phone calls and other duties that may be assigned with the position.

Position Description
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Attendance
 
Job Summary:
The position of Attendance/Administrative Assistant must provide a wide variety of administrative support to the high school administrative offices, with the primary responsibility of managing student attendance data.
 
Required education and experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Word processing skills
• Familiarity with computer databases
 
Preferred education and experience:
• Experience working in a K-12 school environment
• Experience working with Infinite Campus
 
Required skills/abilities:
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to automobile
• Effective written and oral communications skills and ability to work well with others
• Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle urgent and unexpected situations
• Demonstrates organizational skills required to effectively and accurately complete assigned work load
 
Physical requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force regularly
• Moderate dexterity in operating machinery, tools or office equipment
• Normal visual acuity and field vision, hearing and speaking abilities
 
Reports to:
High School Principal or his/her designee
 
Essential functions:
• Supervises Attendance Office, Health Room, all volunteers and provides emergency medical assistant
• Takes and records all calls pertaining to student absences and maintains permanent attendance records for all students
• Confers with parents and students regarding daily absences through emails and phone messages
• Prepares reports, form letters and exemption lists
• Processes various reports and notices for assistant principals
• Maintains and records all disciplinary data
• Orders and maintains inventory for Attendance Office and Health Room
• Backup operator/receptionist
• Perform other such duties as may be assigned
