Job Description:  The School District of Baraboo is seeking a Principal to oversee North Freedom Elementary, West Kindergarten Center and Baraboo 4K to begin with the 2024-25 school year to bring vision, experience, knowledge, and skills to focus efforts and resources on improving student learning. This school leader will work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to continue the development of this professional learning community. This Principal holds a 220-working day contract with benefits.           

 

To maximize the potential of all students and staff members, this principal needs to be an instructional leader with the following strengths: effective interpersonal communication and community building skills; ability to facilitate development of a positive learning community; strong knowledge base of high impact instructional strategies to support and coach teachers; knowledge of implementing standards-based learning and assessment; experience using data to guide improvement decisions; and knowledge of best professional practices to improve teaching and learning.This principal needs to be a kid-centered instructional leader with knowledge of special education.  Experience with Multi-Level Systems of Support (MLSS) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is desirable.

Qualifications:  Candidate should possess Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) certification as a Principal (#5051).  Our administrators are part of a leadership team with teachers and school board members who work together to improve teaching and learning throughout the district.  Our school district has committed major resources to professional development, literacy, and student interventions.  This district also focuses efforts on building community partnerships and providing extracurricular opportunities for students.
