Hours: Monday-Friday - 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (some evenings for monthly board meetings, etc.)

Position Description:
The Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Education will assist with all clerical and legal duties, and help coordinate all board of education meetings for the Superintendent and Board of Education, including general job qualifications listed below.
The successful candidate will have:
A high school diploma or equivalent required / 2-year post-secondary education or 2-year Technical College degree in Administrative Assistant, Legal Assistant or related field preferred
Knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order and Parliamentary Procedure or be willing to learn the rules/procedures as part of the duties as Board Secretary
Proficient in office procedures and knowledge of computers and software programs including Microsoft Office, Google, and other applications.
To obtain certification as a Notary Public
Ability to develop/maintain positive rapport, professionalism, tact, and good judgment with staff, and respond as a team member
Ability to demonstrate public relation skills with community members and business leaders
Ability to read and interpret documents, speak and write effectively, including preparation of reports, minutes, and other professional correspondence
Ability to work independently, initiate tasks, organize multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and trustworthiness with members of the educational community
Flexibility to accept interruptions, work under pressure, and handle problems in a professional and courteous manner
Willingness to attend training above and beyond normal work hours
Willingness to expend extra effort over and above normal job requirements and to work irregular hours as necessary.
