Job Description:  The School District of Baraboo is seeking candidates for a full-time Elementary Wide Library Media Specialist to begin with the 2024-2025 school year. This position holds a 194-working day contract with benefits.

Qualifications:  Candidates should possess a current Wisconsin DPI-issued Library Media Specialist License (#1902). The candidate will be responsible for creating a library environment that supports and engages the school community to explore, inquire, create, innovate and communicate. Must be able to create a robust and diverse collection of materials that reflect the needs and interests of the community served. Candidates must demonstrate ways to engage learners with competence and respect while considering their needs, abilities and diversity. Demonstrate knowledge of children’s and young adult literature and fosters motivation for reading. Possess the ability to engage students in learning by emphasizing inquiry, evaluating resources and critical thinking, as well as creating and sharing new knowledge. Promote responsible and ethical practice for using, creating and sharing information within and outside of the learning community. The candidate must demonstrate technology skills and knowledge to include maker spaces, 3D printers, green screens among other additional technology.
