9:30am-2:00pm Monday-Friday; 4.5 hrs/day; student calendar year (approx. 10 months)

The Green Bay Public School District is seeking applicants for a Food Service Worker at Aldo Leopold Community School (K-8) starting with the 2024-25 school year. The position will work following the student calendar year. The first day is scheduled for approximately Monday, August 26, 2024 with possible additional training dates scheduled earlier in August. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9:30am-2:00pm. Your scheduled days of the week and hours are subject to change based upon the educational, staffing, and safety needs of the District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):

Responsibility.
Specific responsibilities for the Food Service position include but are not limited to:
1. Operates the Student Meal computer information system.
2. Completes daily reconciliation reports for accounting and School Meal participation purposes.
3. Follows bank procedures and makes deposits.
4. Prepares student meals by reheating product to correct temperatures.
5. Follows all guidelines in student health plans regarding special dietary needs.
6. Follows all HACCP and sanitation requirements.
7. Rotates unheated meals practicing FIFO.
8. Sets up daily serving line and properly prepares, displays, serves, and maintains salad station and components.
9. Forecasts meals and meal components.
10. Places orders on a daily basis to the production kitchen.
11. Orders condiments, milk, supplies and other required components as needed.
12. Maintains kitchen quality by cleaning kitchen and equipment on a daily basis.
13. Reports any equipment malfunctions.
14. Works any special functions if required.
15. Maintains good working relations with other programs and their workers and provides assistance as needed
16. Performs other job-related tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Safety and Sanitation: Maintain proper food handling, heating, cooling and storage techniques to ensure efficient operations and eliminate waste and spoilage. To comply and maintain the sanitary standards as stated in the Wisconsin Administrative Code of the Department of Health and Social Services Chapter HSS 196. Notify immediate supervisor of signs of food mishandling, spoilage or any improper food handling practice.

-Must have or be able to obtain ServSafe certification.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a multi-task food service operation preferred.
- Successfully completed an approved Safety and Sanitation class within the past 5 years (or complete certification within 180 days of hire) and renew certification every 5 years.
- Ability to work with people.
_ Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and possess basic writing skills.
- Ability to apply math skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting not to exceed 50 lbs (testing required).
- Processes good customer relation skills.
- Have enthusiasm and willingness to continue learning through attending necessary staff development workshops and programs as designated.
