The Green Bay Area Public School District is dedicated to providing excellence in education and ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for students, teachers, and staff. This commitment has led us to seek an experienced, enthusiast and innovative Director of Recruiting and Talent Development who will lead us forward in our efforts. The District is committed to the goal of working toward employment and development of a staff that is representative of the diversity in the Green Bay area community and student body. We are seeking to hire staff who are committed to infusing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) into their work. The purpose of this position is to lead and facilitate the overall recruitment and internal talent development program for certified and administrative positions in the school district.
The selected candidate must be able to build effective and productive relationships with diverse individuals including internal stakeholders as well as potential partners to advance the objectives of recruiting, development and retention. They should be able to smoothly adjust to changing conditions and respond to new opportunities as they arise. In addition, we are seeking candidates who have the following profile:
Education: Master’s Degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Human Resources or related field.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of successful professional experience in public education. Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in recruiting, marketing, communications, human resources or related field.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensing. Awareness of, or willingness to learn within three (3) months, the landscape of educator preparation programs in Wisconsin. Deep understanding, or willingness to learn within 3 months, of the current and projected data related to educator and administrator workforce needs locally, statewide, regionally and nationally. Familiarity with best practices in K-12 education including teaching and learning frameworks, culturally and linguistically responsive practices, social and emotional learning, and the Educator Effectiveness evaluation model for educators and administrators.
Skills: Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Competence with computers, Google/Microsoft suite of program, and social media platforms.
The essential functions of the position will expect that the selected candidate:

Recruits and recommends for hire a diverse group of candidates for educator and administrator positions.

Develops and leads an annual calendar of recruiting events for educator and administrator hiring.

Engages with the Department of Public Instruction to explore innovative and approved ways to improve recruitment and retention of diverse staff including, but not limited to:

Establishing the Green Bay Area Public School District as an approved educator preparation program

Removing barriers to licensure for qualified and experienced candidates for positions who do not currently work in a Wisconsin Public School District.

Coordinates with Human Resources colleagues to ensure candidate information is organized and accessible to expedite hiring decisions and processing.

Assists school principals in identifying and recruiting individuals in their schools to enter the educator and administrator pipeline, including:

Parents and family members of students
-
After school staff
-
Community partners and volunteers
-
Student teachers
-
Current staff serving in student support roles
-
Oversees maintenance of Memorandums of Understanding with educational preparation program partners and staffing agencies.

Serves as recruiting liaison with Cooperative Educational Service Agencies(CESAs), higher education institutions, the Chamber of Commerce and community organizations.

Engages with District department administrators ensure recruitment, hiring, development and retention efforts are aligned to District expectations.

Partners with District department administrators to seek external funding and grant opportunities to assist with staff development opportunities and career development into the educator and administrator pipeline.

Assist with thriving workforce efforts including onboarding planning, stay interviews, exit interviews.

Recommends and monitors recruiting and talent development budget to the Executive Director of Human Resources.

Assists in improving community-wide engagement with diverse populations.

Partners with District department administrators in the K-12 educator development pipeline activities including:

Academic and Career Planning support

Education pathway course outcomes analysis and actions

Youth apprenticeship and work-based learning opportunities in educational pathways
