Join our dynamic team at Mineral Point Middle School, where we are committed to providing a supportive and enriching educational environment for our students. We believe in fostering a love for learning and empowering every student to reach their full potential. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Reading Interventionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literacy instruction and a commitment to helping struggling readers improve their skills. As a Reading Interventionist, you will work closely with students who require additional support in reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted reading intervention to students in small group settings.

  • Assess students' reading abilities and develop individualized intervention plans.

  • Implement research-based strategies and interventions to improve students' reading skills.

  • Monitor and track students' progress through ongoing assessment and data analysis.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other stakeholders to support students' literacy development.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on students' progress and strategies for support at home.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in literacy instruction.

Qualifications:

  • A Wisconsin reading teacher license (DPI 316). A master's degree with a major emphasis in reading or reading specialist (DPI 317).

  • Wisconsin teaching license with certification in Reading Specialist or Reading Teacher (or eligibility for certification).

  • Experience working with middle school students in a literacy or intervention role.

  • Strong understanding of literacy development and evidence-based reading instruction.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Strong understanding of data collection and analysis of data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Positive attitude and dedication to supporting students' academic growth.
