Elementary School Counselor- Building to Be Determined (Hemlock Creek Elementary School or Westwood Elementary School)
- Full-time, 2-year grant-funded position
- Must possess or be eligible for Wisconsin DPI School Counselor certification #7054
The School District of West De Pere is looking for a dynamic, highly-motivated candidate with a passion for helping all students be successful. The ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders and engage parents and colleagues through effective communication and by building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff is essential. The counselor will work in tandem with another full-time elementary counselor to meet the needs of elementary aged students.
Responsibilities may include:
• Providing classroom developmental guidance lessons
• Providing individual and small group counseling to meet educational, personal, and social needs.
• Consultation with teachers, parents, administrators, and outside agencies to support students
Successful candidates will have working knowledge of the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model and social emotional learning initiatives. Understanding of Trauma-Sensitive Schools practices and being able to support families by collaborating with community stakeholders along with familiarity of referral pathways to mental health care is vital.
