SUMMARY
To accurately record student attendance and tardiness for the school district in Infinite Campus. Communicates pleasantly with parents, students, visitors and staff both in person and on the phone.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Calls parents to notify about and determine reason for student’s absence; Uses telephone to request and give routine information to parents and school district personnel;
•Prepares letters, memos, bulletins, reports, as directed, within mandated timelines;
•Processes all student expulsion materials;
•Processes and distributes District and U.S. mail;
•Monitors student behavior while in the office;
•Operates office equipment including but not limited to copiers, personal computers, calculators and telephone consoles;
•Serves as a role model for students by conducting self as a responsible, intelligent citizen;
•Demonstrates a commitment to ethical principles and democratic values in the workplace.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply basic arithmetic calculations using units of American money, weight measurements, volume and distance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, employees, parents, students and the general public.
•Bilingual not required, and preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The requirements identified subsequently are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed to perform the duties of this position.
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
•Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior.
•Ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents.
•Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, public groups, and community.
•Ability to work cooperatively with peers.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

•Position demands meeting deadlines with severe time constraints.
