KTEC High School is a new public charter school that opened its doors to students on September 6, 2022. KTEC HS is looking for strong, forward-thinking individuals to build the foundation of the school.

Students at KTEC HS will earn certifications that align with competencies identified by industry. This model prepares students for post-secondary education as was as being workforce ready.  Students will be empowered to develop a strong sense of character, understand how to function collectively within society and be career and future focused.

The ideal candidate would possess the following competencies:

●      Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills

●      Exceptional administrative and organization skills

●       Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods

●      Ability to incorporate goals, competencies and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to student’s lives

●      Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration team 

 

The position is a unique opportunity for a school counselor to develop a course called C3 structured around SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) and ACP (Academic and Career Planning).

Throughout the course, the counselor will work alongside administration in holding career fairs, providing students with internship or job shadowing opportunities, monitoring students graduation requirements and portfolios (including a resume), and tiered interventions for competency requirements. There may be additional outside trainings required based on curriculum and/or program needs.

 

Additional functions will include:

- Provides service to families and district staff, supports the KTEC community in general, and facilitates services between KTEC, parents, and community resources.

- Effectively manages all accompanying responsibilities for delivering a successful district school counseling program.

- Establishes, delivers and maintains an all-inclusive school counseling program to optimize the educational experience of KTEC students.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated knowledge of competency-based learning and curriculum development emphasizing SEL/ACP curriculum development.
