The Howard-Suamico School District is in search of two dynamic, energetic, ambitious, passionate intermediate grade level band teachers.  The exceptional candidates will demonstrate mastery on several band instruments and have a passion for music that attracts students; will create a supportive and rigorous learning environment; and will seek and create unique opportunities for student growth.
 

Plans, implements and assesses student learning experiences.  Helps foster a love of learning for students and appropriately guides the learner to lead their learning.  Facilitates parental involvement.  Builds strong relationships with students and collaborates and communicates effectively with all stakeholders.  This position is located at Lineville Intermediate School for Grades 5-6. Start date is August 19, 2024.

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Teach 5th grade and 6th grade band, including directing large group rehearsals and performances and a small group lesson program throughout the school year
  • Design and implement a 4th grade band recruitment program, including instrument demonstrations and fittings
  • Provide differentiated instruction for students of various abilities, including providing varied levels of all concert music for students to play
  • Team-teach with the other Lineville band instructor to lead large classes, deliver lessons, and chart the progress of students.
  • Collaborate district wide with instrumental music educators
  • Serve as a Leader In Me instructor and facilitator

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Licensure and certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction 1506 - Instrumental Music required.  Successful completion of student teaching experience. Knowledge of current educational methodology and practices.
