Full Time
The Trevor-Wilmot Consolidated Grade School District seeks an energetic and friendly full-time year-round Custodian to join our team. The successful candidate will perform routine cleaning and maintenance to keep our district well-maintained for our students, staff, and community.
The Trevor-Wilmot Consolidated Grade School District is located in Southeast Wisconsin and serves approximately 500 students in the Trevor and Wilmot communities from grades 4K through 8th grade. Our mission is to have every student learning, growing, thriving and our vision is to have a united community of lifelong learners empowered for the future.
Essential Functions
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuum floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Assist with helping to maintain facility grounds – some mowing and snow shoveling, minor landscaping.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical (light ballast), and other building fixtures.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the district and community
• Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities
• Report any issues to the Facilities & Safety Manager.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements/Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, and electricity.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Prolonged periods of standing, or walking required
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. at a time
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to work alone and with other staff members
• Experience in school a plus
Hours:
Monday – Friday 1 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the school year with the ability to flex the schedule when needed.
7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the summer months.
Job Type:
Full-time year-round
Pay:
$17.50 to $19.50 per hour, depending on experience
