Position Details
CERTIFICATION
· Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Broad Field Social Studies Teacher (#1701) for Early Adolescence through Adolescence (Grades 6-12) or as a Social Studies Teacher (#2700) for Middle and High School (Grades 4-12) preferred.
· In lieu of #2700, additional Social Studies discrete area licensure may be required (i.e., History).
WHAT IT TAKES
· Ability to relate to secondary students.
· Ability to contribute to learning in a collaborative planning environment.
· Interest or experience with standards-based grading preferred.
· Experience in teaching using differentiated instruction, cooperative learning, simulations, computer technology, and authentic assessment.
· Experience working collaboratively with colleagues in professional learning communities.
· Ability to design and create learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relationships.
· Experience meeting the needs of different groups of students.
· Interest or experience in advising/coaching/co-curricular activities.
