Position Details
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Based on the provided qualifications and responsibilities, a Part-Time Special Education Director would need to possess the following skills and experience:
1. Administrative Leadership: Ability to provide leadership to building principals, pupil services, and special education services. Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and administration.
2. Program Development: Experience in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating special education services for students with disabilities.
3. Pupil Services: Knowledge and leadership in various pupil services areas such as student records, counseling, AODA, school psychology, and other related programs.
4. Student Achievement: Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives aimed at improving student achievement.
5. Compliance: Experience in developing, administering, and overseeing IEP and 504 team processes to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
6. Transition Services: Ability to assist in developing transition services for students with disabilities.
7. Child Find Activities: Experience in facilitating child find activities to identify children in need of special education services.
8. Budget Management: Skills in budget preparation, implementation, and fiscal accountability for pupil services programs, as well as recommendations for Special Education Department
9. Section 504 Coordination: Ability to serve as the Section 504 coordinator for the District.
10. Flexibility: Willingness to assume other duties as assigned.
11. Other duties as assigned
