We are currently seeking to hire a highly dedicated Elementary Math Interventionist/Coach for the 2024/2025 school year.

 

The successful candidate will be assigned to support students and staff at the Intermediate Center which houses grades 3-5.   Applicants must be committed to continuous improvement and skilled at fostering collaborative conversations with staff focused on results-oriented practices and data.  We look for individuals whose creativity, curiosity, enthusiasm, and professionalism are contagious. 

 

What Your Day Will Look Like:

Your day will consist of two main roles: (1) providing small group or individual math intervention support to elementary students and (2) supporting classroom teachers' knowledge and implementation of the CCSS standards for mathematical practices within the universal core curriculum.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Math Interventionist

        Implement intensive intervention strategies and/or programs to small groups or individual students via the instructional model determined by the school’s MLSS team. 

        Diagnose, intervene, monitor, and adjust instruction based on data to serve developing mathematicians.

        Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress, strengths, needs and intervention process.

        Maintain accurate student progress and behavioral records.

        Complete additional tasks as requested by administrators

Math Coach

        Increase the academic performance of all students in the area of mathematics.

        Support and assist teachers in the alignment of instruction to the CCSS for mathematical practices while implementing the universal core mathematics program. 

        Use coaching strategies to assist classroom teachers in building inclusive classrooms and the delivery of effective math instruction for diverse learners.

        Support teachers in the collection, analysis, and use of data to drive their instruction.

        Plan and present professional development topics to building/district staff.

        Participate in building and district-level continuous improvement leadership and facilitation.

Our Ideal Candidate:

        REQUIRED: Valid Wisconsin DPI Regular Education or Elementary Education License (MC-EA, EA-A)

        PREFERRED: Mathematics License 1400

        Demonstrates expertise in instructional strategies and effective research-based intervention strategies in conjunction with equitable Multi-Leveled Systems of Support.

        Ability to coach and work side-by-side with the classroom teacher on mathematics instruction

        Experience with using data to diagnose, intervene, monitor and adjust support.

        Has an unwavering belief that all students are capable of high levels of learning

        Demonstrates ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with all learners (e.g. students and staff).

        Possesses a collaborative and solution-oriented mindsets.

        Ability to be flexible and adaptable, especially during times of change.

        Demonstrates good communication skills (oral and written), including ability to guide and supervise groups of students, maintain confidentiality, and work with students in a positive and motivational manner. 

        Demonstrates proficient office skills with computers and software. 

        Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

        Bilingual (Spanish) skills and abilities are a plus
