The Green Bay Area Public School District is pleased to announce that the position of Head Start Health Services Coordinator is available for qualified and interested applicants. This position coordinates the Health and Nutrition Services of the Green Bay Area Public Schools Head Start Program, and is part of a dynamic team of passionate educators, administrators and staff serving students and families in our district. The Green Bay Area Public Schools Head Start serves 336 three to five year olds at two locations in our district. The Head Start Learning Center is located on Bellevue St and backs up to the East River Trail, while Jefferson Head Start is tucked back in an established neighborhood just north of Velp Ave and west of the Fox River. Each site houses eight Head Start classrooms and staff who support our children and families through home visiting and our collaboration with the district 4K and Early Childhood teams. Students attend either a half day or full day program, Monday through Thursday. Although our program is housed at two locations, we operate as one program with the principals of both buildings and the Head Start Management Team working together to Direct and support the program. The goal of Head Start is to promote School Readiness of children ages three to five from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child. Services include Early learning: providing care and education for young children to prepare them for school. Health: Ensuring that children are reaching developmental milestones and have access to the nutrition they need to thrive. Family well-being: Assisting families in supporting one another and reaching their goals so they are all able to succeed. Our Head Start teams, consisting of teachers, paraprofessionals, home visitors, coordinators and educational service coaches work together to meet these goals.
