Full-Time Buildings Supervisor – 260 days. Start Date: January 15, 2024
The successful candidate will:
• Supervise and evaluate all custodial personnel
• Supervise the work of all contractors who work on the buildings
• Coordinate the efforts of contractors and utilities personnel who may be concurrently working on District facilities
• Advise the business manager, district administrator, and board of education concerning necessary building maintenance, staffing, etc.
• Assist in the hiring of new custodial staff. Hire all substitutes and summer staff
• Develop bid specifications for contracted services, parts, supplies, and materials. Evaluate bids and order services and materials.
• Inspect facilities; identify maintenance problems; determining the costs of repair; evaluate and assist in the prioritization of maintenance items; and coordinate, and/or perform needed repairs
• Identify and solve safety problems that are associated with the buildings. Maintain the folder on Material Safety Data Sheets for hazardous chemicals used in cleaning operations
• Develop and prioritize, with the business manager, building principals and building lead persons, the list of maintenance projects and associated timelines.
• Control costs for custodial services by assuring the security of sensitive items and monitoring the use of cleaning supplies and chemicals in coordination with housekeeping supervisor
• Schedule cleaning and maintenance with housekeeping supervisor so as to minimize disruptions in facility use
• Provide advice to the business manager and superintendent for asbestos related items. Maintain (at District expense) the annual training and certification as an Asbestos Abatement Contract/Supervisor
• Be knowledgeable of the rules of OSHA, DWD, the DNR, and other regulatory agencies and assist in the assurances of compliance with those rules
• Oversee training of personnel in the performance of their duties
• Attend conferences and workshops to stay current with sound operating procedures and management practices
• Oversee, monitor, evaluate and update our District HVAC systems

All applicants must be able to bend, stoop, reach high and low and work at a constant pace, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, ability to communicate with supervisor and staff. Applicants must be detail oriented. Janitorial, custodial or general cleaning experience preferred.
