Job Description: The School District of Baraboo is seeking applicants for Substitute Paraprofessionals District Wide. The positions are Educational Paraprofessionals, Special Education Paraprofessionals and Library Assistants. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the following skills and dispositions: Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team setting Organizational skills Ability to problem solve Ability to interact in a positive constructive manner with students, district employees, parents and community members The Educational Paraprofessional or Library Assistant selected candidate(s) must have completed a 2-year degree, 48 hours of coursework or be able to pass the Master Teacher assessment. The Special Educational Paraprofessional position will require the individual to work with students who are identified with disabilities. The requirements for this position include: able to work with students who may have emotional, learning and multiple handicaps, ability to connect and communicate with students and families, and ability to lift at least 30 pounds. In addition, the selected candidates must have, or must be able to obtain prior to their first day, a Special Education Program Aide license. To be highly qualified, the applicant must have completed a 2-year degree, 48 hours of coursework or be able to pass the Master Teacher assessment.
