The D.C. Everest Area School District is looking for a professional with an emphasis in Strength & Conditioning to lead all aspects of a dynamic training program for the Athletic and the Physical Education Department.
JOB GOAL
The Supervisor of Strength and Conditioning Program is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strength & conditioning program for all sports and supporting the Physical Education Department with three major goals:
1. Teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills.
2. Reducing athletic injuries.
3. Improving athletic performance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Administers strength & conditioning activities for the grades 6 - 12 athletics program, as well as, support a rigorous physical education curriculum for all Strength & Conditioning classes in the Physical Education Department.
• Devises training plans according to sound scientific principles, supervises training sessions, evaluates student-athletes, maintains student-athlete records, and assists Strength & Conditioning classes, as needed.
• Provides leadership and instruction in the Athletic and the Physical Education Department of student-athletes and coaching staff to include skill analysis, teaching/demonstrating of proper techniques/skills, and adapts workouts to match each sport’s specific competition schedule needs.
• Conducts warm-up, stretching, and core training activities. Administers pre and post-testing activities for physical evaluation and program setup.
• Promotes multi-sport student-athletes and good morale among coaching staff.
• Collaborates with the Athletic Directors, Physical Education Curriculum Coordinator, athletic coaches, and the Physical Education Department in the development and implementation of the program.
• Responsible for maintaining the strength & conditioning facility while establishing policies, plans, and procedures for the safe and professional operation of the facility in conjunction with the Director of Community Services.
• Accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned.
• Arranges for issuing, storing, and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and current records.
• Responsible for co-planning with the Athletic Directors and Physical Education Curriculum Coordinator and implementing nutrition, wellness, and leadership lessons for student-athletes.
• Designs and implements strength training & conditioning programs for pre-season, in-season, off‐season, and summer programs for all school‐sanctioned male and female athletic programs in a manner that reflects research‐driven practices of an Athletic/Fitness Development Model.
• Works in cooperation with the sports medicine or athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured student-athletes.
• Facilitates a collaborative relationship among the Athletic Directors, Physical Education Curriculum Coordinator, athletic coaches, sports medicine staff, and the strength & conditioning staff.
• Designs and implements policies and procedures for the Strength & Conditioning Program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards Guidelines.
• Conducts a needs analysis for each sport team in conjunction with the individual sport’s coach(es) prior to the season, at mid-season, and a post-season review.
• Meets with the sports medicine staff on a regular basis.
• Determines and reinforces expectations for student-athlete conduct that mirror the school’s expectations for curricular and co‐curricular activities, as stated in the school’s Student Code of Conduct and Athletic and Activities Handbook.
• Attends quarterly meetings with the Directors of Athletics, Physical Education Curriculum Coordinator, and/or other designated administration professionals.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE
• $40,000 per year (prorated from start date through June 30, 2024).
• Paid time off including 18 paid time off days, 15 vacation days, and 9 holidays each year (prorated from start date through June 30, 2024).

WHAT IT TAKES
• Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Performance or a related field is preferred.
• Licensed by the WI DPI as a Physical Education Teacher (#530) preferred, or successful completion of an approved coaches education course.
• A current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency — for example, the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification, preferred.
• Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in all areas of strength training, including: Olympic style lifting, speed, agility, plyometrics, flexibility, and conditioning methods, Applied Functional Science foundations, and the ability to demonstrate techniques effectively.
• Experience and/or expertise in strength & conditioning programming for organized athletic programs; three (3) years of experience or more is preferred.
• Demonstrated evidence of ability to maintain open communication and interact positively with the Athletic Directors, Physical Education Curriculum Coordinator, student-athletes, athletic coaches, colleagues, parents/guardians, and the public.
• Evidence of strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Technologically adept, including the capability of making instructional and demonstration videos.
• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility and patience are required.
• Must be self‐motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision.
• Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Occasional evening availability may be required.
