The Germantown School District is looking for a Range I Special Education Program Aide
to work at Amy Belle Elementary School. This position is considered part-time/school year.
1. Under the supervision of a special education teacher, prepare for classroom
activities
2. Under the direction of the special education teacher, supervise students at
transportation pick up and drop off area, hall, bathroom, and cafeteria
3. Direct involvement in tasks designed to increase appropriate social
and academic behavior
4. Assist special education teacher in the collection and analysis of data on
student performance
5. Occasionally perform clerical duties
6. When requested, participate in parent conferences
7. The aide will provide assistance with medical/self-care needs,
safety, instructional delivery, and other duties as assigned within the
program/building

1. Experience working with children - strong experiences dealing with student behaviors is preferred.
2. Certification as a Special Education Program Aide by the Department
of Public Instruction must be obtain within the 1st 3 months - District will endorse and assist
the chosen candidate to get their DPI license
3. Demonstrated competence in the area of child supervision
4. Knowledge of basic computer skills
5. Completion of physical examination as required by Board of Education
policy, state and federal law
6. Such additions or alternatives to the above qualifications as the
Board may find appropriate and acceptable
