Job Summary
Under the direction of the building administration and department lead/chair, the licensed Special Education Paraprofessional assists teachers in achieving academic and physical objectives with Special Education students.
Either supporting small groups or working one-on-one with students, this position works closely with an interdisciplinary team of teachers, health care providers, and family members to make sure the student is able to get the most of their school day.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid certification or eligibility for position as established by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI)

Essential Physical / Mental Requirements*:
This job is classified as medium physical work but depending on the assignment could be medium/heavy. This job primarily involves walking and bending/stooping with occasional sitting and standing. Twisting, squatting/crouching, kneeling, and pushing exerting forces up to 30 pounds are frequently performed. Crawling, reaching overhead, and pulling force up to 30 pounds and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds are occasionally performed. Verbal and auditory communications are frequently involved. Near and far vision, depth perception, and field of vision are frequently utilized. Handling with both hands is frequent.
