Specifically, The CESA 7 Assessment and Data Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing professional development activities related to assessment strategies and practices. The specialist will work closely with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), district teams, and other stakeholders to support schools and districts as they build capacity for assessment literacy, data inquiry, and continuous improvement. The Assessment and Data Specialist plays a critical role in supporting data-informed decision-making for school and district leaders. They are responsible for promoting data leadership, enhancing data literacy, and facilitating the inquiry process among educators statewide. The specialist will build capacity for data inquiry and assist schools and districts in developing culturally responsive continuous improvement plans based on their data analyses. As a valued member of the CESA 7 Team, you will: -Project a positive and courteous attitude and image to all stakeholders -Communicate effectively with clients and CESA 7 employees. -Continuously evolve in your profession and with CESA 7 through a professional development plan. -Become an expert in your position, sharing your knowledge internally and externally. Responsibilities, will include but not limited to: -Collaborate with CESA Assessment Project Leads to develop and implement professional development sessions for districts: -Classroom/End of Unit Assessments -Student Portfolios -Performance Tasks -Assessing Writing Across Grade Levels and Content Areas -Analyzing Data - Formative, Interim, and Summative -Provide coaching support to districts in follow-up to the professional development sessions -Promote district participation in the Assessment Project. -Conduct assessment audits with participating school districts. -Coordinate and collect feedback throughout the project. -Collaborate with others at the Agency to increase their potential and their service area while improving your assigned service area. -Complies with all CESA 7 policy and administrative directives. -Maintains confidentiality of CESA 7 internal matters and complies with any legal confidentiality requirements as to student information, health records, or other similar information. -Other duties assigned to support the Agency. Required Qualifications Experience -Knowledge of and experience in supporting assessment literacy, data inquiry and analysis, and continuous improvement. -Familiarity with literacy and math initiatives, and Instructional Materials and Professional Learning (IMPL), and evidence-based instructional strategies -Excellent organizational and time management skills -Proficiency in using technology for communication, data analysis, and content development. -Familiarity with culturally responsive practices and their application in educational settings. -Effective communication and interpersonal skills -Demonstrated ability to deliver training and facilitate professional development sessions. -Effective problem-solving abilities. -Commitment to ongoing professional growth Education -Bachelor's degree in education, assessment, data analysis, or a related field. -Valid Wisconsin license in one of the following: -Teaching license/certification and experience in an educational setting. Preferred Qualifications Education and Experience -Master’s degree in education, assessment, data analysis, or a related field. Previous leadership experience.
