The district nurse supervisor will manage the district's care for students. Main duties will include providing direct care to students during the school day, managing health plans for serious health conditions of students, managing and training a health team of approximately 10 staff members, coordinating with the city health department and district physician, creating and maintaining the district health procedures, providing health training to others as needed, other relevent duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Wisconsin licensed Registered Nurse with a Baccalaureate Degree (2011 Requirement)
Experience working with school-aged children and providing health education in a school or public health setting.
Knowledge of the control of communicable diseases in accordance with State and Local mandates.
Daily access to a reliable vehicle and valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
Ability to interact with individuals of any socioeconomic status, disability, and culture.
Current certification in health care provider CPR + AED.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a School Nurse and knowledge of school-age immunization.
Wisconsin DPI School Nurse Certification (will be required to obtain if not currently certified).
Knowledge of student information system and Google Apps.

4. Excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
5. Basic computer skills, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets.
6. Assist in obtaining and maintaining emergency cards, immunization records and other appropriate medical documents for students and personnel.
7. Demonstrates knowledge, skills and use of evidence based practice relevant to nursing and school health.
8. Demonstrates knowledge of WI Nurse Practice Act, Roles and Standards of School Nursing, Scope and Practice.
9. Upholds professional standards of the National Association of School Nurses.
10. Maintains confidentiality in the delivery of health services to the school community in accordance with professional standards.
11. Understands responsibility to the district, school, family, and community and collaborates in order to meet student health care needs.
12. Uses effective written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
13. Ability to manage multiple staff members, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising.
