The Cedarburg School District seeks a highly dedicated and intrinsically motivated IT Systems/Network Manager to plan, direct, manage and supervise all aspects of the District’s computer/technology network to keep the system highly functional and dependable to enhance educational opportunities and maximize student learning. Applicants must possess the requisite knowledge and skills to independently perform the expected duties, while demonstrating the most positive of attitudes. Candidates must be adept at fostering mutually respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members. A tireless work ethic and sense of humor are mandatory. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - plan, design, install, modify, configure, operate, develop, maintain and repair the LAN, WAN and other network systems and related equipment including firewalls, Wi-Fi Networks, VPN management and administration and remote access, - hardware, software and applications; - administer network services, monitor and evaluate network performance, and identify problems or concerns; - Install or oversee vendor configuration and assure optimal and efficient operation of network hardware, cabling, wiring, servers, hubs, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, management systems and other network components; - maintain incident response and business continuity plans and develop CIS Security Controls. - manage vendor relationships to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services and solutions. Establish and maintain communication channels to ensure timely issue resolution. - research and evaluate new technologies for possible implementation; confer with users concerning system needs; provide recommendations concerning the purchasing and implementation of new technologies including network management and information security solutions; - create and maintain various records related to network documentation, servers, software licensing, inventory, user accounts and assigned activities. Specific qualifications include: - a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field; - a minimum of five years’ experience working with various LAN, WAN, and Internet protocols, network and wireless equipment, data archiving and disaster preparedness, cybersecurity, Microsoft and Linux server deployment and management, VMware virtual system management, SAN management; cloud connectivity, Microsoft workstations, peripherals and software; - ability to work independently; must demonstrate self-motivation; - ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of users, including students, teachers and administrators; - strong oral and written communication skills required; - progression toward or completion of network certifications; - a valid Wisconsin driver’s license; - alternatives to the above qualifications may be appropriate and acceptable based on education, accomplishments and/or related experience.
