The Riveredge School is a free public charter school. Class sizes at ROLES are a maximum of 18 students each and all classrooms have a full-time paraprofessional during student in-person instruction. The Riveredge School operates on a 4 day in-person student work week, and Fridays are teacher preparation time to allow curriculum building, lesson preparation and collaboration among the small teaching team. The vision of ROLES is to create an environment where students are connected to the outdoors every day. The school will accomplish this through the mission to serve as a laboratory for outdoor learning which amplifies the outcomes of public education, serves learners of all abilities and needs, fosters a deep connection to the environment, and prepares students for success in school and life. ROLES will provide rich, diverse, and authentic learning experiences for students in K-5th grade through a nature-based, inquiry-based, and a project based learning environment. The School Nurse will work on a Limited Term basis, as needed. Availability to work the afternoon and evening of August 30 for Back to School night is required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing and valid registered nurse license. Current first aid and CPR Completion required. Responsibilities including but not limited to: Nursing Care: • Provides direct, in school, professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students in response to the nursing assessment and in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures and state law regarding nurse practice. • Administers medication with appropriate documentation and implements the State of Wisconsin medication policy and procedures. • Maintains accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates and timely reporting and submission to the DPI database including; immunizations, physical examinations, and medical conditions, and the related archival responsibilities. • Is responsible for maintaining and updating cumulative health records. Organization: • Maintains the daily environment of the student sick room and supplies. • Maintains a daily log of student visits and documentation on individual health records. • Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties. • Assume adherence to the medical guidelines of the State of Wisconsin by compiling and maintaining necessary health records for all students. • Prioritizes and performs other health or school related work in consultation with Principals if schedule permits. • Partner with local agency to provide Flu Shot Clinic for faculty/staff. • Head Lice management-classroom or student checks when necessary. Communication: • Creates Health Action Plans/Allergy Awareness Plans for students with documented medical needs to be communicated to all teachers and staff members who will care for that student. • Maintains communication with teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the health and safety needs of students. • Provides health services and information in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community. • Follow up with a parent regarding an accident/incident report for students. • Maintains confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues.
