Position Purpose:
In partnership with CESA7, the Green Bay Public School District is happy to accept applications for After School Program Aide opportunities for the 2024-25 school year. Working under the direction of the After School Program Site Director, program assistants help students with homework, hands-on learning projects, and facilitate recreational/physical activities and other enrichment opportunities. In addition, qualifitying students have opportunity under the Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Program to earn school credit. 
 
Essential Functions:

  6. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment by cleaning according to schedule, completing the three-step process and appling universal standard precautions. 
  7. Maintains a safe learning environment by identifying and removing safety hazards, reporting non-mobile safety hazards, and ensuring hazardous material is inaccessible to children. 
  8. Adheres to emergency procedures by following employer security, evacuation, and emergency medical procedures.
  9. Sets up and takes down rooms, resets rooms, returns equipment, reports any damage or lost equipment to the appropriate person.
  10. Fosters social interaction during snacks and meals, if applicable. 
  11. Sits with children and models appropriate social interaction. 
  12. Fosters discussion, and encourages children to talk to each other. 
  13. Manages groups in various environments. 
  14. Facilitates routines and procedures.
  15. Provides guidance with academic work. 
  16. Works one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce learning and allows for differences in learning styles and abilities.
  17. Creates a supportive environment and encourages responsibility and independence. 
  18. Assists Site Director in several ways, including creation and distribution of materials. Takes initiative to provide assistance.
  19. Builds relationships with participants, families, and coworkers.
  20. Other duties as assigned by supervisor 
Working Conditions: 
  1. Works independently with minimal supervision.
  2. Uses time management skills to meet timelines.
  3. Able to interact with staff, vendors, etc. effectively.

Youth Apprenticeship Terms of employment:  
To qualify for credit under Youth Apprenticeship, students must be high school juniors or seniors who work at least 450 hours in a year. They follow the Green Bay Public School District Employee Handbook.

 
 
Required qualifications:
- Interest in working with elementary students
- Ability to provide own transportation
- Ability to commit to a regular weekly schedule
- Ability to pass a background check.
